Leadership and Team Development Consultant
Throughout her career, Carol Williams has focused on team building and staff development to build high performing teams and to successfully lead teams through service redesign and organisational change programmes. This has resulted in her being asked to turn around poorly performing teams with excellent results. She believes mentorship and supervision are important for everyone to develop skills and support career choices. She taught mentorship and supervision when working in nurse education and has continually developed her own skills in this area. In particular, Carol has knowledge and expertise in clinical supervision, providing both group and individual clinical supervision for nurses. She believes this helps nurses deal with difficult situations and enables them to focus on their individual development needs in a safe environment. She is a qualified teacher and registered nurse who developed her children’s nursing career at the Evelina Children’s Hospital, Guy’s & St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust in London. Here she worked in clinical, managerial and educational roles, developing leadership and management skills with diverse, multi-disciplinary teams. Operational management experience within the Healthcare Commission and Care Quality Commission has provided her with a broad knowledge of the health and social care sectors.
